Our story
ALT RENOVATION PTE LTD
Some might think that ALT Renovation refers to “Alternate Renovation”. We get that a lot.
Truth is, it is the acronym for Mr. Ang Lye Thiam. He is our founder, our director, our mentor and our father. Yes, we are a family business.
Our father started out in the renovation industry 40 years ago as a floor tiler who learned his trade through hard work. Just like any typical 1950s worker, he worked his way up from an apprentice, to a supervisor, a sub-contractor and eventually a main contractor. The desire to deliver professional services and better support his newly started family was his source of motivation.
In 2015, we officially became a family business. It gave our father tremendous comfort to know that there is someone to pass his life’s work to.
We incorporated the business and he officially became a Director of a Registered Company. It was a big moment for him. So much so that at the age of 58, he put on the shoes of a student and took up a course in Building & Construction Authority (BCA) to officially certify himself.

Checking off another item on his lifetime wish list is the opening of our One-Stop Design Studio where we transited from being just a General Contractor to a company capable of taking up Interior Designing projects. With in-house designers, we can effectively reduce operational delays and deliver renovation works that are aesthetically pleasing as well as practical.
Well, so here is our story. Not the most exciting nor the most exclusive, but it is the story we are proud of, because it is about our family.
